Viman Nagar acquired its name from the fact that it is only half a kilometre away from the Pune airport. With complexes such as Mhada Colony, Rajiv Nagar South, and Kargil Vijay Nagar, it is also regarded as one of Pune's upscale areas. It is bordered on the north by Pune Airport, on the west by Sanjay Park, on the south by Kargil Vijay Nagar, and on the east by Tata Nagar.

The Pune-Ahmedabad highway provides excellent access to the rest of the city. The area is 8 kilometres from the Pune Railway Station. The nearest airport is Pune International Airport, which is about 0.5 km away. The proposed Ramwadi Metro Station on MahaMetro Line 2 (PCMC to Swargate), which is set to open in 2023, is expected to increase connectivity even more.

Phoenix Market City, Vascon Mariplex Mall, and Viman Nagar Shopping Mall are a few notable malls and markets around Luxury Real Estate Properties in Viman Nagar.

Koregaon Park, Kharadi, Tingre Nagar, Mudhva, and other key centres of employment in the area are all within 5 - 10 kilometres of the neighbourhood. The most important routes for offices and retail markets are Symbiosis Road, Samrat Ashok Road, and Viman Nagar Road.
